Johnston Mooney & O’Brien recall ALL bread products with a specific expiration date due to the risk of metal parts
JOHNSTON Mooney & O’Brien are recalling ALL bread products preferably before Sunday 11 February as there is a risk that some may contain small pieces of metal.
The company released the widespread recall this afternoon, saying only bread products with that exact expiration date are affected.
Retailers have removed all potentially affected packs from store shelves and customers can get a full refund at the time of purchase.
The company apologized for any inconvenience – but said it had taken “the most appropriate course of action, however minimal the risk may be to the consumer.”
No roll or roll products are affected by the recall.
In a statement, the bread giant said: “As a precautionary measure, Johnston Mooney & O’Brien is undertaking a recall of all bread products with an expiration date of February 11, 2018, as there is a very low risk that some contain small pieces. of metal.
“Only bread products with this exact expiration date are affected. No roll or roll products are affected.
“All potentially affected packaging has been removed from supermarket shelves in cooperation with retailers and everyone in the distribution system has been recalled by the company.”
They added: “The company has informed all customers / retailers and the relevant authorities.
“Anyone in possession of a Johnston Mooney & O’Brien bread product with the expiration date of February 11, 2018 can return the product to where it was purchased for a full refund.
“Alternatively, they can send the empty package with their name and address for a full refund to: Johnston Mooney & O’Brien 11 Jamestown Road, Finglas, Dublin 11.
“The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this recall, but believes that this is the most appropriate course of action, regardless of the low risk the consumer may take.”
Last month, Mars Ireland recalled a batch of Galaxy Smooth Milk bars and Maltesers Fun Size bags “due to the possible presence of Salmonella”.
