Ree Drummond’s Easy Meatloaf Recipe is ready in under 30 minutes


Ree Drummond offers a simple variation of the classic meatloaf that takes less time to cook than the traditional method. The pioneer woman star shared the steps for making her pan-fried meatloaf recipe, including a delicious sweet topping.

Ree Drummond’s Skillet Meatloaf Recipe is So Easy to Make

Drummond demonstrated how to make his pan-fried meatloaf recipe in an episode of The pioneer woman. “And that’s not what you think,” she said. “I learned to love him in my adult life. I think the name baffles people – you know, Meatloaf – it doesn’t roll very well on the tongue, but it’s so delicious when properly prepared.

Drummond first dipped six slices of white sandwich bread in milk, explaining, “It’s one of the secrets of meatloaf to have some kind of bread component.”

“And I’m going to tell you about a little something,” she noted. “Meatloaf is like a huge meatball, that’s all. It’s the same thing. It’s basically the same mixture you would use to make meatballs.

She put ground beef in a bowl, then added the milk soaked bread, eggs, Parmesan, seasoned salt, pepper and chopped parsley and combined all the ingredients.

Next, Drummond made the easy sauce to top his meatloaf, combining ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and balsamic vinegar. “It’s a really sticky bright red frosting, just classic ketchup,” she noted. “I love it.”

While she was preparing the recipe, Drummond shared her tip for cooking it in record time. “So this is where it deviates a bit from ordinary meatloaf”, The pioneer woman star explained. “Usually what you do is put it on the mold and shape it into a loaf, but I’ll fill the mold completely with it.” “

Drummond sprayed a baking sheet with cooking spray, then sprinkled breadcrumbs on it, then she spread the meat mixture all over the pan and poured the frosting on top.

“Now the magic of this skillet meatloaf is that it cooks quickly,” she explained. “So when I make my regular meatloaf, it can take an hour and a half, sometimes longer, for it to be fully cooked in the middle. And sometimes you take it out thinking it’s cooked and you cut it, and it’s not. “

Drummond continued, “In this case it’s all very thin, so you get a lot of surface area with all this delicious sauce and not a big chunk of meat.”

She sprinkled cut-out cooked bacon on top and baked it in a 400-degree-Fahrenheit oven for 25 minutes. When it was done baking, she explained, “Since it’s so flat, I cut it into squares, like I would with a chocolate cake.”
